A festive feast from award-winning Bristol chef
Never mind gifts, snow or even the tree, Christmas is all about the food.
When PURE Co imagined Xmas Tipi Party, it was centred around a feast that would deliver all the cheer of the festive season. With a commitment to using local providers, the team chose Bristol-based company Cherry Picked Catering to take over the kitchen. Headed by chef Conrad Jenkins, who is well known for private dining destination The Chef’s Table, the company was founded 12 years ago and is now one of the leading bespoke catering companies in Bristol.
A starry background
Conrad himself trained as a chef from the age of 15, earning AA rosettes in 2000 for his first joint venture, followed swiftly by more for his second restaurant. In 2008, he branched out into private dining with Cherry Picked Catering, which has seen great success as a result of an ethos that focuses on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and a flawless team.
Traditional with a twist
For Xmas Tipi Party, Conrad designed a menu that celebrated winter favourites, including smoked salmon, turkey and all the trimmings, chestnuts and candied orange. It delivered a traditional taste of Christmas with some contemporary twists – from the celeriac en croute to the spiced mulled wine sorbet. Accompanied by perfectly paired wine, it was a memorable feast for a magical occasion.
